happy and sad

Avery and the baby ducks about 3 years ago
She boarded a big jet this morning from Atlanta headed to.......

Hawaii

This is exactly how her Nana feels
She is going to have the vacation of a lifetime. Almost two weeks all over Hawaii and why am I so sad? I should be thrilled. This is her first flight. She is going half-way around the world. Hello..6 hours time difference. She is nine years old. I miss my baby girl.
I want to be so happy for her and I didn't show my anxiety last night, but I had it. I pray she will enjoy herself and make wonderful memories with her other grandparents. They live all the way up in Boston and I know we need to share. It's just the first time she's been away like this.
Please help me pray it will be a wonderful time for her. Love you guys.

My one and only trip to Hawaii was also memorable. I hope Avery has a better time than we had. I know I'll never fly out or into Atlanta again. Hope she's back home soon.

I do know how you feel as my son took my two granddaughters to Japan for 4 whole weeks during the summer and they were 8 hours ahead of us on the other side of the world.
The oldest one didn't want to come back & has cried ever since. The youngest wanted to come home!

I am sure it will be the trip of a life time for Avery and time does go very quickly!

I do know how you feel though...it's a long way from home and the jet rides scare me. What an opportunity and wonderful learning experience for her. Hope the time flies for you and she's home safe soon.

Our grandchildren live a thousand miles away near Boston. But if one of them went to Hawaii, I think Grammie would just have to go along.

We're hoping to visit there in October.

She'll have so many exciting things to share when she gets home. I never had two sets of grandparents, so she's a lucky girl! I'd love to go to Hawaii some day...it looks just about perfect, doesn't it?

We dreamed for years of going to Hawaii for our 50th anniversary...but when it came time one of our grandson's was graduating from high school in Malaysia. We went to Malaysia. We'll never regret our decision. Maybe we can go to Hawaii for our 55th...
What a wonderful gift to Avery. When she comes back what a wonderful time she'll have sharing her memories with you!

Trish you both will be fine...Avery is just stretching her feathers just like those baby ducks! Gosh I'm trying to move to Montana and I have 8 grandchild in CA and 1 in Oregon. I just don't know if I can do but I want to so bad. I guess you and both need prayer...you pray for me friend and I'm already praying for you...Miss you my friend.

With a relationship like you have with Avery, you will be with her the whole time in her heart and spirit. Just think of all those stories she is going to have. And who is she going to want to tell them all too....you my dear friend her very special Nana =)

Love,
Cindy

Wow, two weeks! That is a long time, don't know that I could do that either with my own children. I'd miss them too much! But... it is a grand memory to be in Hawaii!
