First of all, thank you for all your prayers. We met with the doctor this morning and I had the nerve tests. He said that the MRI and nerve tests show that I now have arthritis in the top of my spine. He said there are three vertebrae that are messed up. I can't tell you how relieved I was to find this out. I have had arthritis in my hands, feet and knees for several years and I know that dealing with the chronic pain is one of the biggest parts of the disease for me. I suppose some people would be upset to find out this new information, but I feel like I can deal with it. I had imagined so many other things that, for me, would have been a lot harder to handle at this point.

I came home early today. I didn't sleep well last night and I guess all the waiting and wondering had gotten to me. I watched the Elizabeth Edwards interview with Oprah. They have a huge beautiful home. She has been through so much, losing a child, breast cancer, and then finding out her husband was having an affair and may have a baby with the woman. I think I might be interested in reading her new book.

I hope you have had a great day. I know that I feel a huge sense of relief. I feel like I can face things better once now that it has a name. I feel so blessed!

So glad to hear your news, Trish! It must be a huge relief even if you are still dealing with chronic pain. Please check out this website and see if it is any use to you. (Read the testimonials). I use the product and it works amazingly well.

Trish,

So thankful to hear the good news!

I know you are very relieved. It is so difficult to go through a process of elimination with symptoms like you had that could be so many different dreadful things.

Before going through the process I would never have thought of going to a good Pain Management Center.
After being referred to one and doing it for a few months, I highly recommend it.

I hope this is something that can be controlled or fixed so you may live your life comfortably. That's why I had my neck surgery. Now I'm "pain free" (as much as possible for an almost 53 year old gal. I'm glad the news was "happy". BIG HUGS!! :o)

Trish...so happy to hear you now know the problem. Still sending up prayers for your pain though, and a better quality of life with arthritis. Praying for wisdom from your doctors and the right medications for your situation. Better yet, a complete healing from the Lord would be wonderful!

I watched the interview today too. That was some home, my goodness. Thought it was a very interesting response from Elizabeth. Some of the quotes from her book were so profound. Hmmmm still not sure what to think about him and the possible child. My heart goes out to Elizabeth and their children though, talk about a hard road to travel down. I wonder if she is a believer?

Trish....... although that doesn't help the pain, having arthritis is far preferable to some other things it could have been.
I am releived for you.

I am also suffering with this kind of thing and the hands and wrists are painful and caused by the wear & tear on the spine!
I find that not sticking with any task for longer than a quarter of an hour is a good thing to remember. Move on to some thing else & then come back to it!

I agree Trish that a diagnosis of arthritis is one that is a lot less worrisome than others could have been. I suffer from it too. When I take a strong dose of Advil or Aleve I feel 10 years younger...lol!

I'm happy for you that you now know what your facing...and that it is the better of a few evils. I have osteoarthritis in my lower spine...but for the most part the pain isn't too bad. Hopefully you can find something that works for you!

Many blessings to you this Mother's Day weekend.

Nanatrish I rejoice with you that it was not something a whole lot worse. With the Lord's help we will get through anything, abide and perservere. I'm glad you are relieved.
