A Quiet Time

I find this picture from flickr fascinating. I long to sit at that picnic table and just have quiet time for hours and hours. My life can become so rush rush and so many people are asking me questions day after day. I would love to just go to this secret place and talk to the Lord and read His Word. Doesn't it look peaceful?

Simple Pleasures: Day 3 Piling nice soft comforters on top of each other and crawling under those heavenly covers. I thank the Lord I am able to rest at night and just be quiet.

That's why I go for walks....just to be with the Lord and see what He may see or do. Love that time.

Nana, there is such a serenity to this scene, no wonder you would like to step into it. So would I.

Well I don't have people asking me questions all day long, I'm sure if I did, I would get just absolutely frazzled. You have so much patience, its a gift, to be sure. I'm glad you find peace and quiet at night. Those are wonderful, but fleeting moments. I'm one of those people who falls asleep within seconds of my head hitting the pillow.

Psalm 46:10(a) "Be still and know that I am God." Ten minutes of rest with the Lord is better than ten days at a spa! God bless you, my sister...may you have a peaceful night of rest. Love ya! ~Theresa

Hello! Here is the cornbread dressing recipe that I use:

Crockpot Dressing
(from Aunt Oma Lee)
1--8" pan of cornbread
8 slices day-old bread
4 eggs
1 med. onion, chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1 1/2 Tbls. sage or poultry seasoning
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 cans cream of chicken soup
2 cans chicken broth
cooked chicken or turkey, shredded (if desired)
2 Tbls. butter
********
Crumble breads together into the crockpot. Add all other ingredients except butter. Mix very well. Dot the top with butter pats. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours OR on low for 4 hours. Makes about 16 (6 oz.) servings. Absolutely delicious!! And cooking the dressing in your crockpot gives you more room in the oven for everything else at Thanksgiving.

It was sooooo delicious tonight and they hardly left me any leftovers-ha! I had to scrape the pot:)

Solitude is the one thing I crave. I can recharge, clear my mind, and get ready to face 5 men again! That picture is the perfect setting!

Whenever my "nerves" get the best of me, Dick and I head over to the river and just sit and stare at the glistening water, somehow it renews our spirits.

Thanks for the compliments! On my hair..it's getting grayer..I get the hairdressers to color the roots dark blonde and bring highlights and lowlights in to create something way better than my natural blah!! Then after I blow dry I use a really good straighening iron to calm the frizzy's...smoke and mirrors!!;-)

Nothing is calmer than a cool quiet place by the water - pond, lake, sea - doesn't matter.

I agree, there is something about being next to water that calms the spirit and restores the soul. Very nice picture. Thanks for sharing.

Great photo Trish...I love my quiet time too.

Btw...Dustye and I are heading to the matinee tomorrow, she wants to see "Twilight", I'm just now hearing all the hype on this flick. I'll have to give a review after I see it....
