Making Her First Pie

This was a great weekend. Friday night was Trunk and Treat at the church parking lot. Tons of fun things to do, a petting zoo, hayrides, boiled peanuts, wonderful costumes. There were hundreds of people there and so many cute kiddos in adorable outfits. We had lots of fun and Avery loved it. Saturday I went to vote and then we picked up Avery and headed for the park. I took all these neat pictures and the only one that actually saved was the one in the banner. Avery organized it for an artistic picture. I thought it looked nice and earthy so here's our little fall banner.

Saturday night Avery made her very first pie. It was a peanut butter pie and it tasted so yummy. I think she was proud of herself and it really made a memory. Church was so wonderful this morning. We had a beautiful praise and worship service with the most uplifting music. I felt like I was walking on a cloud when I left. I know we don't go by feelings, but when you feel touched by the Lord it is special. He wants us to praise Him and I'm not ashamed of my praises to Him.

I hope you had a great weekend also.

How fun!! I love having my daughter help me in the kitchen--it reminds me of when I was little and helping my mom.

Avery made a pie and memories! How nice is that. While you are cutting a slice for Lavinia, Avery, would you please be a darling and cut one for me?

One thing I like better than coming face-to-face with a good pie is coming face-to-face with the Spirit of God! Good job on the pie, Avery! You know you have started a tradition, now, right? Which pie will you tackle next time, hummmmm...chocolate? Have a great week!

That Avery is a cutie pie! Speaking of which, congrats on her peanut butter pie. I like the way she arranged the things for the banner too, she did a nice job. (I got a wild hair and made a sour cream and raisin pie with brown sugar meringue! It was different, but actually pretty good!)

So much fun! First pie!

When my daughter was about the same age, she and a friend made from scratch brownies. When it came time to add the salt they misread the amount...they used 1/4 cup instead of 1/4 teaspoon....ooweee!! Nasty!:-)We laughed and laughed and then made some more!!

Avery's pie looks yummy!

Blessings!!
