Rambling

The picture on my banner is one of my favorites of Avery. I think it really suits her personality. She is quiet and reserved and this picture says that to me. Here it is Thursday night and I look forward to heading home tomorrow evening. We don't have any big plans for the weekend. I kind of look forward to resting, reading and doing the chores I need to do. I need to do some spring cleaning and since it's now April, I need to get with the program.

I switched purses this morning and realized that every time I switch I have so much stuff to throw away. I think I've told you guys before....I love purses. Since I was old enough to know about purses I have found them fascinating. Some women love the shoes. I love the bags. They just don't excite some of my friends, but holy moley, I think they are a delightful accessory. For years my daughter didn't care that much about purses, then about five years ago.boom.she caught the bug. Now we both love us some purses. I have to be careful that I don't get them too big. I keep putting more stuff in them and they get so loaded up that they are too heavy.

Are you a purse lover? Please share your fascination with them. There must be some of you that also have a special love for them. Surely I'm not alone.

Do I like purses? I love them! The only problem I have is I find so many that I think are "it", but turn out sitting on the shelf while I use one that is comfortable but not as classy.

I don't have a favorite designer but have mostly Coach, LV, Marc Jacobs and Prada, with several others besides.

I am sure with your traveling you need a larger bag than most. Some can be quite heavy especially Marc Jacobs even when empty.
Enjoy your weekend home!

Nanatrish it sounds like you've found purses you can love. I am still searching! I have a long list of requirements for a purse and I can't seem to find one that fits all of them. IF I had the means I would custom make my own purse exactly the way I want it.

Now, I have bought many purses in my life but sooner or later I end up detesting them. They're just not right. But some of them are okay and I love bright colours for summer. I had an orange purse and a lime green purse and they were darling.

My list of what a purse should be like for me is too long to list here.

Reading your posts is like sitting down for a nice chat with you. So relaxing. Bless you Nanatrish, and little Avery too.

Joy-I love all the purses you named. I have had some of them.My girlfriend gave me a large LV and I loved it. Right now I'm carrying an Aigner. I used to love them in the 80s. I enjoy Fossil bags too. I have several Dooneys and I like them a lot too. They just make me happy.

Lavinia--thank you for saying my posts are like chatting. If I had all the money I have spent on purses I could buy some fabulous something, but then I wouldn't have had the fun of carrying them. It's like they have an important part of me in them. My daughter and I now trade gift cards at Christmas and we say that the rule is...we have to buys a great purse we love. Something fun to look forward to.

I've got my cup of coffee and I'm ready for our chat about purses. :o)

I am on THE perfect purse quest also. I thought I was alone in this but apparently am not. What a relief! I'll buy one and love it for about a week, then it is segregated to the closet, never to be seen again until it's donated to Salvation Army. I think I might have chosen a hopeless quest. [sigh]

My every day purse is a no name brand sporting denim I picked up at Wal-Mart on a whim. It's bulging at the seams and if I tear it or lose it I won't cry. I can just get another for $7 bucks or so.

And yet the quest continues ... the perfect purse is out there ... somewhere ... waiting for me ....

mmmm that would be my sister Knitting Mania! I tend to use mine till they are falling apart, then I have to force myself to buy a new one. But I do have a weakness for roses! Don't ask how many of those I have =]

Purses..... that sounds so funny to me. A purse over here is a tiny thing that you keep money in. Well maybe that IS what you mean but I think you mean what we call a HANDBAG.
Can't say that I am struck by the bug! I tend to find something I like & stick to that.
Love the photo of Avery on the header.

Yes, yes I do love purses! I told my daughter this morning that I want a new one. The last one I bought was at least 4 years ago. It is a cute stripy Fossil number. There is a tag on front that says 1954. That sold it for me. I was born in 54.

I like soft supple leather purses. This time I want a cute colorful leather number. Belk's is having a big sale and I'm thinking of running over there on my lunch hour to see if I can pick up a bargain.

My big problem with purses is my shoulders. They are narrow and sloped. Every bag with wide straps slides right off as soon as I sling it over my shoulder. The straps have to be kind of small...the narrower the better...the perfect strap is hard to find.

I've been on blog hiatus this week and visiting my friends today! Nope, I'm not a purse girl. My love is PENS! BOLD TIP pens. Love em!

Hi Trish

I'm not a big purse, shoe or jewelry lover ...I know that doesn't amke me sound too feminine but I do love to dress up every now and then. My weakness is books! Show me a book store and I get weak in the knees and so excited!
