I Feel Like I Must Confess, Johnny Rockets

Okay, what is it with me? Knowing I have to climb into a big plane and go to Seattle in a cramped up coach seat in June. So what did I do for lunch? I went with one of my peeps over to Johnny Rockets. Yes, I have a big issue. I get anxious and what do I do? Eat a big greasy hamburger, french fries, vanilla coke and to-go a peanut butter shake. Oh that wasn't bad, Trish. Only about 3000 calories. Boys and girls, I am beyond the trying to be cute stage. I have got to fit in an airplane seat and airplane bathroom because the trip is all the way across the US of A.
I know we went down this road a couple of months ago and I lost 21 lbs. and boom hopped right off the diet and now I have to get serious. I don't want to be miserable. I want to be able to scoot in the seat and actually be able to move around. Us thick chicks have a challenge in airplane seats. Probably if you are sitting there with a tiny little rear you have no idea from where this craziness comes. Another funny little seat is at a ball game. I thought I would have to be removed with the Jaws of Life at the end of the Toronto Blue Jays game.
I must get my friend Maree to inspire me some more. She has a wonderful blog At Home. She lost a bunch of weight (like 50 lbs or so) She's cute as a button and I need to put her picture on my screen saver at work so I am constantly reminded that this is all possible and I have to stop feeling sorry for myself. She has been busy and not posting as much as she was and I hope I am not thinking this is an excuse for me to pig-out. Please come back Maree. I need your inspiration. What is wrong with me?

There's nothing wrong with you...that burger, fries, coke and shake sound SO good right now! :)
No, seriously,... good luck with the diet. You can accomplish a lot in 2 months!

Hi Trish, That meal sounded scrumptious. [drool] I would have to DRINK serious alcohol to fly on a commercial airline again! You're braver than me. I used to fly everywhere but I drive now. Eat moderately. Have fun. Probably really all you need to do is walk or exercise more. That's what helps me lose weight.

Betsy--Thank you for your words of encouragement. I hope people aren't sick of me stopping and starting. Yes, they call if Comfort Food for a reason.

Spark-I have to fly, too far. I am not able to exercise much. I have 3 kinds of arthritis and it's kind of painful to move too much. I just have to lose the weight. I will have to drink the water, water, water.

I know how hard it is to keep the weight off when exercise is limited.

Wish you the best with the diet.

Hi Trish!

Oh it's soooo hard to stay on track! I know! Sometimes I just cant help but eat something I shouldn't. But I hear that when you do slip, enjoy it to the fullest! Then get back on the wagon.

Have a blessed week!
Hugs, Sherry

There is nothing wrong with you. Take it from a reformed aneroxic (who had issues cause of her loved ones telling her she was fat, although she wasn't), you are beautiful, no matter your size. Blessings

maybe it is somethig int he air. i have been eating way too much at lunch for a few weeks now. and i've developed a huge sweet tooth -- even bigger than my normally bog sweet tooth.

it is just a phase you are going thru, maybe stress as well. take a deep breath and promise yourself to do better. you wouldn't break an important promise to a friend so don't break a promise that you've made to you!! you can do it. i believe in you!

I'm right there with you Trish. Fast food is the bane of my existence. It calls me something horrible! I've got to go back to cooking all of my meals. That way is SO much less fattening.

I have yet to try Johnny Rockets...and never realized it was a big chain. (We don't have any in our area.) There was a Johnny Rockets on our cruise ship last week...and I missed my chance to sample their delicious (calorie-laden?) fare.

We flew Air Canada to Houston last week...and they actually allowed a little more wiggle room than I expected. You'll be just fine!

Trish, there is a law now in NYC now that fast food restaurants have to post the calories for everything they sell. Really, I was absolutely shocked at what I saw! It certainly does make one think when you see how fast those calories add up for even the smallest things!
The best thing to do is bring your own lunch and control portion size as much as possible. I love to eat and I know how hard this is. I'd love to lose 50 pounds myself! It's best not to give up and keep trying. Good luck!

I hope you and your family have a blessed Easter!

Mmmm - Johnny Rockets. There's none nearby - nor is there a Steak n' Shake within walking distance. Nothin' more delicious than a really good hamburger! Happy Easter Trish!

Break my heart!

You know..I told you we ate at Applebees Monday night in Aiken....I had the best burger I'd had in ages....it was so hot and juicy!! No guilt! If I eat sensibly most of the time...what is a big ole pig out going to hurt?! Nothing!

The most important thing is after that burger..try and take a short walk...and the next day get back to that oatmeal with strawberries and blueberries or whole wheat bagel, turkey wrap with cucumber salad, grilled chicken, sweet potato with fresh green beans. Top it off with angel food cake, strawberries and whipped cream...I ate all that and lost the weight. Never have eaten better in my life!!

Love you sweety..have a wonderful blessed Easter!!

I have lost 30lbs over the last four months.I have easily gained 50lbs over the years...but the Doc telling me I was Obese did it. I excerise every day, eat four small meals a day( all good whole food). It just took me hearing that news...I pray I can keep it off. It is not easy. Thanks so much for visiting my Blog!
