A Week Until Christmas and I'm Hanging Out at Barnes and Nobles

Okay, boys and girls..I have just arrived back from Cynthia's blog Muse Swings. I have to tell you that she has made my day sound incredibly boring. You must check it out. She saw Caroline Kennedy and held a snake all in the same day. She was at Starbucks and someone took her coffee. She just had one adventure after the other.

I went to work. Yes, we had our annual Christmas luncheon and did our exchange deally. I got a Best Buy gift certificate. Then I went back to work and had a conference call. I left work picked up my medicine and dropped into the Barnes and Noble and got a couple of Stampington books , like Stevie Wren was talking about a couple of weeks ago. I ate soup and drank a Zero. I imagine you are all on the edge of your seat with all this fun.

I hope my daughter doesn't hear about this post. She thinks it's unreal that people care about our little daily lives. I guess I'm just ready for my vacation and getting ready for Christmas. The weather is bizarre. It's freezing and then this evening it was 69 degrees. I don't know about you, but that makes me kind of confused. Hot and cold.

I don't know if Cyn really saw Caroline Kennedy or not. My mom used to say the older you get, the more you think strangers look like people you know. I have to say, I agree with her. BTW, I saw a woman sitting in Barnes and Nobles at the little tables doing her Christmas cards. I see some of the same people sitting there in the window reading and doing all kinds of activities. I don't know, maybe people are lonely and they go get their Starbucks and bring things to do there around all those other people. Actually, it's not a bad idea. Get your coffee, tons of reading material, restrooms, maybe it's a pretty good idea.

Maybe they needed to get away from their families (kids) for awhile in order to get stuff done. Hmmm...it sounds like a smart plan! Maybe if I go sit at the Bucks, I'll actually get my cards finished! :)

Hey, Trish. Jake used to head over to Barnes and the coffee shop with his laptop. He would hang out drinking coffee, surfing the web...then reading a book and he was still in high school I'm thinking he thought it made him look cool...

Nothing here today. Just pacing the floors waiting on 2 a.m. so we can head up to Missouri. Love ya, sister...God bless....and you know the weather is kind of weird here too...kind of like me...hot flashes! LOL

You are a hoot, Trish! Man, if I have too many days in a row like this one I'll get the vapours for sure. The excitement and all. The mascara lady's hair looked a lot like Caroline's. As for whether it was really her or not, there's a saying that fiction is better than fact,or was it fact before fiction, or was it the more fiction the better. I can't remember the saying, so I use some of each.
At least you got to go to the book store today! That makes up for the entire rest of your day!
Hugs!

Hey kiddo..took a few days off. I'm up late and you mentioned coffee...sounds good...I'd better not though!

There are always people holed up at the Panera down the street...I always wonder what they do when the place is closed..wait to come back??;-)

We saw William Shatner in a little Mexican restaurant in Lexington..he was very low keyed....think he has a horse farm there. Does that count for anything?

Love Ya!

Our weather is weird too. First it's freezing cold, then it's hot. I'm sure all our plants are getting confused.

We do not have Starbucks here as we live in the country but we could hang out at our new Sweet-T's Coffee Shop in Patterson. That would be fun too! :o) ♥ ∞

Could be they just like to people watch!! Have you ever done that, watch people and try to imagine what their lives are like... or they could just be lonely and need to be around other people. God did makes us for relationships you know, and that is a very good thing!!
Bless you, my Sweet Friend, I pray you have a wonderful Christmas!!

You have a wonderful sense of humour!
Hope to find time to visit Cynthia's blog but I am getting concerned about how much time I'm spending on this contraption! LOL!

My daughter used to go to Books A Million to study when she was in college. For the life of me, I don't know how she got any studying done. I would be too busy people watching or gathering up a stack of magazines and books I had to have.

ps your day sounds a bit like mine.

Before the best little tea house in town closed I used to go there and enjoy a pot of tea and treats while I did my grocery list, have an hour to myself to read a book, etc. I wish it was still open! I loved going there instead of the big coffee houses to enjoy some quiet time all to myself before I returned home! I can relate to your window people. ha ha

i'll meet up with you at barnes & noble any day of the week!! i love that place and adore browsing the books and magazines!

i'm not sure that my daughter understands my need to tell the world about my life either. but that's okay, as you and i both know it's all about finding kindred spirits to brighten our day!

merriest of all christmases to you and your family!
