I suppose I am like a little girl in that way. I need things to have on my mind to look forward to. My friend, Steviewren, is starting a post card swap and that sounds like such a cool thing. Click on her neat blue picture to the right. Several of us are going to start doing some art on some post card paper and send them to each other. I think that sounds fun.
If you would like to get details and join us just get with her at her blog. It will come up when you click on her picture. She's very artistic and always is coming up with neat ideas. As the summer draws to an end there will be the holidays to look forward to, but sometimes they make me a little blue. My mother died right before Christmas in 1978 and ever since then I can't help but think of my emotions that sad Christmas. When I went to clean out the things in her apartment she had her little Christmas tree up and had purchased my Christmas card. We loved watching all the Christmas specials together when I was growing up. I guess I shouldn't be sad. I believe that we'll be celebrating His birthday, but my mother will be worshipping Him in person.
Since I'm talking about looking forward to things, what could there be any better to look forward to then to know Our King is Coming!

My hubby's parents both passed in the fall time and he absolutely detests the fall, even after 40yrs. My dad passed on August 12th and I always feel so sad in August. When you love a parent you just can't help it. It brings back memories that are sad for US. They are having a wonderful time with the Lord and I know don't want us to be sad, they want us to celebrate with them. After 30+ yrs I still cry over my dad being gone. I really miss him. My heart feels for your heart Trish.
I like to look forward to things too. Mostly things that will bring our boys and their families together for a celebration. We have a good time together!

OH, that is a hard thing when ones' mom dies, especially around holidays....Lost mine in 1985, not long after Christmas...
THe post card swap sounds like a great idea, but not sure I would have time to join in, although I would like to.

I am getting excited about the postcard swap too! I like this post, you are right....I am never so happy as when I have something to look forward to. Whether a special ocassion in a few days, or a trip some months away....

We all need things to look forward to, You are not alone. The Holidays can be a sad time. My family has dwindled down over the years but I am thankful that both my boys are here.
It is hard to lose a parent. This Christmas will be hard for Dorothy(DIL). Her mother's 58th BD was just the other day and it was very tough on her.
You are right in the fact that our loved one's are worshipping in person.
